Our baby, Tess Marie Mata, 10, gained her angel wings on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in Uvalde, Texas.
Visitation for Tess will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary Chapel with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, June 13, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow immediately after at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde.
Tess was born to Jerry and Veronica Mata on February 6, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas. Tess was an athlete at heart and enjoyed softball, soccer, gymnastics (especially doing the backbend).
Tess is preceded in death by her maternal grandfathers, Felipe Ybarra and Jesus B. Rodriguez; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Rodriguez; paternal grandfather, Rosenburg Risa; paternal grandmother, Juventina Risa; uncle, Felipe Ybarra; and great uncle, Gilbert Risa.
She is survived by her parents, Jerry and Veronica Mata; sister, Faith Mata; paternal grandparents, Raymundo and Rosemary Mata; maternal grandmother, Anna Hill; maternal grandfather, Jose Rodriguez; aunt, Victoria Streeter; uncles, Robert Hill, Mark Mata, Ray Mata Jr.; nieces, Nevaeh Streeter, Saige Rodgers, Kara Streeter, Gabie Mata, and Hayden Mata; numerous cousins and extended family.
