TEWODROS MAKONNEN GEBRE-HIWET, II Page 2 Inside front Cover
With hearts aching but spirits soaring, we bid farewell to Tewodros "Teo" Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet II, a vibrant young soul whose laughter echoed through our lives and whose spirit burned as brightly as the stars.
Named after his Ethiopian ancestors, His Imperial Majesty Tewodros The Second, he was born in Atlanta, Georgia, "A Proud Grady Baby", May 5, 1999 to Loletha Shajuan Bailey and Tewodros Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet.
Teo was an Atlanta Public School student from start to finish, attending Slater Elementary School, Price Middle School and George Washington Carver High School. His favorite subjects were English, Social Studies and History.
Losing his father at a young age, Teo made the decision to "step up to the plate" to actively support his mother and his family. He cared for his siblings above and beyond the call of duty. This included walking them to and from school every day to make sure they were safe; helping them with their homework while their mother worked tirelessly at her job to provide for the family. His quiet strength inspired countless others. Teo constantly told us he loved us and left us with a smile.
Teo found time to enjoy life playing basketball and video games especially with his "brother" cousin Robert "Bobby" Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet. He even liked cooking and was looking forward to his grandmother Jocelyn teaching him how to sew his own line of clothing. Some of Teo's favorite artist included Rapper Kendrick Lamar and Rod Wave, who sold 65 million digital copies in the United States, ranking him among the highest certified artists in the United States.
Teo loved to travel with family especially during his spring break trips to Florida from Disney World to Seaworld, Lego Land and Naples where he spent a summer deep sea fishing among other activities.
Teo was constantly looking for ways to expand his horizon and seek knowledge. One of his many interest was E-commerce and website design.
At the tender age of 25, on March 10th, 2025, Teo embarked on a journey to the next realm. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering passion with a tapestry of memories woven with wit, humor, empathy and resilience. The world that will forever miss his unique perspective.
Tewodros Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet, II leaves to cherish his memory his mother Loletha Bailey; sisters Schulethia "Lele" Spann, Schukela "Kela-Boo" Bailey, Queionta "Cookie" Bailey, Cherish Bailey, Seven Bailey and Zania Gebre-Hiwet; brothers Deyanciss "Kooley" Bailey, Jaquavious Walker, Deyanciss Sensei William; his uncles Robert Fassil Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet, Jerry "Sly" Anderson, Charles Bailey II, Charles Bailey III, Mario Bailey, Beangelo Bailey, Tony Jordan, Eugene Turner; aunts Neka (Frank) Haywood and Patrice "Poo Poo" (Arjuna) Westbrook, Monique Bailey, Denise Bailey, Samone Bailey; maternal grandmother Jocelyn Dorsey Gebre-Hiwet and a host of other loved ones.
Tewodros was proceeded in death by his father Tewodros Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet; maternal grandmother Betty J. Anderson; grandfathers George Bailey and Makonnen Gebre-Hiwet, and uncle Bakarry Bailey

Lil Teo,

Just the thought of you being gone is unimaginable. I remember when you were the cutest, most handsome little boy. You were always so sweet and kind. The last time I saw you, I couldn't believe how much you'd grown and that you were driving. I asked if you remembered me, and you smiled and said yes. I will always see you as another little brother. May your soul rest in eternal peace. My prayers are with Ma and all your siblings.
