Obituary

Sherrye Beedles, 67, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was born on January 12, 1958, at Hughes Spalding Hospital in Atlanta, to the late Ted Lewis Beedles and Lillian Juanita Beedles.

Sherrye received her early education at Haugabrook Academy, Berean Academy, and St. Paul of the Cross Catholic School. She later attended D.M. Therrell High School, where she was a proud member of the Panther track team. During her time there, she and the team earned numerous awards and regional titles in track and field.

She went on to pursue higher education at Georgia State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Sherrye's professional career was marked by excellence and dedication. She worked for Equifax and Choice Point, where she received numerous awards for her innovative workplace solutions and outstanding technical support, before retiring.

From a young age, Sherrye's love of dance was evident. She was a member of the Valjean Dance Company for 10 years, beginning at just six years old. Later, her passion and talent led her to be featured as a dancer on Party, a popular Atlanta-based dance show broadcast on Channel 17. Sherrye also had a deep love for traveling, and she especially cherished trips with her parents to casinos across the country.

Those who knew her will remember her vibrant spirit, unforgettable laugh, and zest for life. Though small in stature, Sherrye carried a presence that filled every room with warmth and joy. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued, whether through her quick wit, her words of encouragement, or simply her contagious laughter that could brighten even the darkest of days. Friends and family often recall how Sherrye's energy could turn ordinary gatherings into treasured memories. She was the kind of person who celebrated others' successes wholeheartedly and offered strength and comfort during difficult times. Her compassion, joy, and ability to connect with people of all walks of life left an impression that will be remembered for generations to come.

She is survived by her loving mother, Lillian Juanita Beedles; her brother, Vada (V.J.) Beedles, and his wife, Melody; her aunts Barbara Alexander, Ollie Beedles, and Joanne Beedles; and her uncles Wilfred, Gregory, and David Beedles. She also leaves behind her niece, Jillian Beverly; her nephew, Jerrard Beverly; her great-niece, Ja'Myra Joy Martin; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who will continue to honor her memory.

A memorial service to celebrate Sherrye's life will be held at Murray Brothers Funeral Home on Friday August 29th at 1:00pm.
