Tex Crider Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home-Keyser Chapel on Dec. 24, 2025.
Tex Milton Crider, 79, of New Creek, WV passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Born on August 21, 1946, in Naomi, West Virginia, Tex was the beloved son of the late Condy Wilmoth Crider and Ressie Naomi (Ritchie) Crider. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Etta (Jarrell) Crider, who passed on March 7, 2018; his brother, Ralph and sister, Patsy.
Tex was a proud 1964 graduate of Marsh Fork High School and spent his career at Dominion Power Mt. Storm Power Plant, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. A hardworking and resilient man, his work ethic was nothing short of inspiring.
Tex's love for tinkering and working on cars was well-known among his friends and family. He found tranquility in the sound of an engine and the smell of motor oil. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need of car repairs. Besides this, he cherished the time he spent with his family, creating a multitude of memories that his loved ones will treasure forever.
He is survived by his loving children, Tex M. Crider, II and wife, Jennifer, of Clarion, PA, and Holly L. Burns and husband, Jeff, of Burlington, WV. Tex was a proud grandfather to Colin and Tessa Crider, Kerstan, Matthew, and Jonathan Corle, and Kailynn Burns. His legacy continues to live on through his great-grandchildren, Ryan Widmar, Leanna Reynolds, and Ettalynn Corle. He is also survived by his brother, Condy W. Crider, Jr. of Cleveland, OH.
A visitation will be held at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Tex's life will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m.
