Von Adolph Mosser

Von A. Mosser, 86, of Knobley Road, Keyser, WV, died Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Moran Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Westernport, MD.

Born on March 29, 1939 in Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late Gorman and Rosena (Copeland) Mosser. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Gorman Mosser, II and a sister, Ramona Pennington.

Mr. Mosser was a 1957 graduate of Keyser High School and attended Potomac State College. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the WV Army National Guard, serving as a staff sergeant with Battery C, 1st Howitzer Battalion of the 201st Field Artillery until 1963 when he was honorably discharged. He was first employed at Grayson's Sporting Goods in Keyser and then worked for 44 years at the Westvaco Luke Mill. After retirement, he decided he needed to still do something constructive, and as a result, when to work with the athletic department at Allegany College of Maryland.

Von attended the Fountain United Brethren Church and was a member of Davis Lodge # 51, A.F. & A.M., Ali Ghan Shrine Temple and the Wheeling Consistory Scottish Rite. He also was a member of Boyce-Houser Post # 41, American Legion in Keyser and loved vacationing with his family, especially to all of the Disney theme parks.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Willeda B. (Wilson) Mosser; his son, Von W. Mosser and wife Linda of Warsaw, VA; his granddaughter, Kathryn Mosser and friend, Evan Kerecman of Phoenixville, PA and a brother-in-law, Paul Pennington of Carterett, NC.

Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4-7 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dwight Walker officiating.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
