Well done thou good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21.
Tex Lanear Robin was born in
Goree, Texas to Waymon L. Robin and Edna Evelyn James on September 12, 1939. Tex married Margaret Elizabeth Anderson on December 30, 1960, and was a dedicated husband for 62 years, a loving father and Paw Paw. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, a devoted Christian, and loved serving the Lord.
Tex was a veteran of the United States Army, lifetime NRA member, and enjoyed going to the gun range. He loved playing his guitar both at home and in his church. Tex made a name for himself as a world-famous cowboy bootmaker. He was featured on television, in magazine articles and books, and received many awards for his artistry. He spent more than 50 years making boots in Coleman and later Abilene. He was always looking for his next hobby or adventure. In his late 50s, he traced his Swedish heritage, taught himself to speak the language, and traveled to Sweden to meet his relatives. At age 83, his daughter introduced him to Starbucks, and he became addicted to cappuccinos and lattes. Those who knew him best might say... "He was a Bible-thumpin', guitar-pickin', gun-totin', boot-makin', coffee-drinkin', family luvin', conservative Paw Paw."
