Lynn, MA - Thalia H. "Tally" (Smith) Blowers, age 84, of Lynn, died peacefully in her sleep, on Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert L. Blowers, with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage and predeceased her in March of 2007. Born in Lynn, in 1941, she was the daughter of the late Milford H. and Elva C. (Robertson) Smith. She was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1958, where she played clarinet in the marching band. For the greater part of her life, Tally was a homemaker, spending time with her husband and raising her loving daughters. She enjoyed listening to country music, Irish Folk music, Elvis Presley, and the Boston Pops, and playing cards with her family. The last concert she attended was to see Daniel O'Donnell, an Irish singer, this past year, which was such a pleasure when she got to meet him afterwards for a big hug and handshake which she exclaimed, she was never going to wash her hand ever again. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Dancing with the Stars, and was a loyal shopper of the QVC Home Shopping Network. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Tally is survived by her daughters, Leslie Blake and her husband Charles "Chuck" of Pelham, NH, Lorraine "Missy" DePietro and her husband Anthony "Tony", of Hogansville, GA, and Kristin Melendez and her husband William "Bill" of West Greenwich, RI; her grandchildren, Ashley and Amy Blake, and Timothy and Daniel Melendez; her sister Roberta Smith of Marblehead and her many nieces and nephews and their families including, Jessica Cote and her husband Dana and Jennifer Guarino and her husband Rick and her Godsons, Robert "Bobby" Smith and Stephen "TD" Smith. In addition to her husband and parents, Tally was predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Hayley Blowers and her siblings, Kenneth and Russell Smith, and Marsha Boulanger.
Service Information: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11a.m. in the Grace United Methodist Church, 374 Broadway, Lynn, MA. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday from 4-7p.m. at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn.
