Thea Quire Obituary
Thea F. Quire, age 88, of Ripley, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the home of her daughter, Ivette Shupert, of Seaman, Ohio. She was born April 21, 1935 in Manchester, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Robert Dewey and Ivy Gertrude (Louderback) Boone. In addition to her parents, Thea, was preceded in death by her husband: James Cecil Quire in May 1990, 2 sisters - Betty Abbott and Patricia Pyles and a son-in-law Charles (Chuck) Inskeep.
Thea worked for the US Shoe Factory in Ripley for 38 years and was a member of the Ripley Church of Christ. She enjoyed bowling on the Shoe Factory league and enjoyed going to Silversneakers at the YMCA in Maysville until her health would no longer permit it. In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing and making clothes and prom dresses for her daughters. Thea also loved listening to country music, as well as, gospel songs of the Gaithers. Thea loved visits from her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Thea is survived by 3 daughters – Valerie Cooper of Aberdeen, Ohio; Ivette (Russell) Shupert of Seaman, Ohio; Karla Boone of Ripley, Ohio and 1 son – Tim (Tammy) Quire of London, Ohio. Thea is also survived by 8 grandchildren – Jason Inskeep of Olive Hill, Ky. – Justin (Shelley) Inskeep of Ripley, Ohio – Janda Inskeep of Ripley, Ohio – Vanessa (Ryan) Bischoff of Brookville, Indiana - Rayedawn Cooper of Sardinia, Ohio – Lindsay (Bryan) Miller of London, Ohio – Joshua (Lauren) Quire of Grove City, Ohio –Corbin (Brianna) Quire of London, Ohio, as well as 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandson; 2 sisters – Ruth Herrmann and Diane Boone both of Ripley - 1 brother – Doug (Regina) Boone of Georgetown, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor Ken Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday. Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
