Thelma Helton Homesley

Thelma Annalee Helton Homesley, age 94, of Cherryville passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She was born July 6, 1930, in Caldwell County to the late Rev. Calvin Helton and Arlie Bolick Helton. She was a wonderful homemaker. Thelma enjoyed sewing and was excellent at cooking and baking. She loved her dogs, Scooter and Lisa, and she cherished her time spent with friends and family. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Benjamin Stephen Homesley; sons, Steve and Gary Homesley; siblings, Edith Bollinger, Ailene Hamlet, Hazel Mullinax, Jim Helton, and infant brother, Leonard Helton.

 

Survivors include her children, Janet Homesley Ridaught, Betsy Homesley Johnson (Greg), Lori Homesley Archibald (Mark), and Jeffrey Paul Homesley; sister, Marie Helton; sister-in-law, Helen Hilliard; grandchildren, Kelli Archibald (David), Christopher Archibald (Brooke), Cassie Archibald (Khory), Trey Johnson, Carrie Kersey (Chris), Cody Johnson (Ashley), Candida Chisholm, and Reanna Ridaught; great grandchildren, Christopher, Chasitie (Wyatt), Canon, Colsen, Camdyn, Owen, Sloane, Berkley, Kylan, Kaylem, Koa, Khari, Kayley, Kelsey, Kensey, Karley, Tanner, Cameron, Tammy, and Missy; and great great granddaughter, Macie.

 

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. G. Scott Homesley officiating.
