Thelma Jean Thomas

Thelma Jean Thomas, age 82, of Bluefield, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Westwood Center in Bluefield, VA.

Thelma was born on February 13, 1943, in Buchanan County, VA, and was the daughter of the late Samuel Louis Burke and Mattie Davis Burke. She lived most of her life in the area and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thomas; sisters, Connie Carver; and brothers, Carlos Burke, Hassel Burke, Chester Burke, and Charlie Burke.

Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A graveside service for Thelma Jean Thomas will be conducted on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11am at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum #4 at Claypool Hill, VA with the Rev. David Osborne officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be relatives and friends.
