Mrs. Thelma Jean White Till, who was 82 years old, sadly passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Atmore, Alabama. She had lived in Atmore her whole life and was a dedicated member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. Her faith and love for her community were evident throughout her life, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She had a big heart full of love for her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. Taking care of them brought her so much joy, whether it was through cooking up her famous chicken and dumplings or sharing fun times playing dominoes. She also loved going shopping, picking out little treats, and enjoyed peaceful days on the water fishing. In her quiet moments, she would relax with a smile watching old TV shows like Andy Griffith, reliving the laughter and warmth they brought into her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Till; parents, Charles James White and Thelma Opal Tullis White; brother Maurice Earl White.
She is survived by her only son, Brian and wife Linda Till of Molino, Florida; brother, James Riley "Pete" White of Alabama; sister, Joan Rounsaville of Atmore, Alabama; two grandchildren, Evan Till and Harmoni Till.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC with Reverend James Boyd officiating.
