Theodore "Ted" Andersen, age 83, of Woodstock, IL, passed away on August 11, 2025, in Elgin, IL. Born on February 17, 1942, in Chicago, IL, Ted was the son of John and Loraine (Hallinan) Andersen. Ted married the love of his life, Joyce Johnson, on May 23, 1964, in Chicago, shortly before his deployment to Vietnam with the U.S. Army. A proud veteran, Ted was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans Post and AmVets Post 269. He later joined the American Legion and Moose Lodge 1329, continuing his lifelong commitment to service and camaraderie. Ted was a passionate fan of Chicago Bears football and cherished time spent with family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce; his children, Dawn (Merle) Marcotte of Ashkum, IL, and Brian (Krista) Andersen of Portland, TN; six grandchildren: Michelle (Chris) Cunningham, Marianne (Joseph) Kunsch, Mitchell (Allyxis) Marcotte, Rebecca (Daniel) Schmitt, Cullen (Justine Olivares) Andersen, and Ian (Tessie) Andersen; and four great-grandchildren, with a fifth expected soon. Ted's legacy of love, service, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Justen Funeral Home& Crematory, McHenry, ll.
