Theodore "Ted" Francis Benedik, of Southbury CT, passed away peacefully at home on Monday,
December 16, 2024. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 30, 1941. He was the beloved husband of Anna
(Fichera) Benedik. He was the son of the late Theodore and Elsie (Otzman) Benedik. Ted was a Vietnam
War Veteran and retired from the United States Postal Service after a long career. Ted was not the life of
the party by choice, he was just at every possible gathering, whether it was for family, friends, or work.
His good nature, remarks, and actions just made a good event great. Though Ted never had siblings or
children of his own he married into a family that gave him just that. Besides his wife of 42 years, which
would have been way longer if it didn't take him 12 years to ask Anna to marry him. Ted is survived by 4
cousins and their spouses, 8 plus brothers (in-laws) and sisters (in-laws), 27 plus Children (Cousins,
Nieces, Nephews, Godchildren), 32 plus Grand kids (Great Cousins, Nieces and Nephews), 11 plus Great
Grand kids (Great Great Nieces and Nephews). He was the best kind of Brother, Father, Godfather,
Grandfather and Great Grandfather, you received all the love, support, and kindness without any of the
discipline. Ted was a man that would give you the shirt off his back, but not his meatball off his plate.
He might be gone but he has created enough memories, with enough people to last 100 lifetimes. If you
knew him, you loved him and if you loved him you were blessed.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12pm on Thursday, December 19th at St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY. 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue Middle Village, NY 11379 Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carpino Funeral Home 250 Main St. Southbury, CT. For online condolences, please visit www.carpinofuneralhome.com
