Theodore Richard Blashinsky age 86, of Morral, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Ted was born on May 31, 1939, to John and Martha Blashinsky. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany, where his time in service was a significant chapter in his life.
After his military service, Ted went on to work at Goodrich in Green Camp and later at Marion Med Center Hospital, where he was known for his warmth and dedication. His kindness and gentle nature made him a favorite among coworkers, patients, and anyone who crossed his path. Ted was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He had an infectious sense of humor, often sharing Polish jokes and stories that made everyone smile.
A man of many talents, Ted was an avid musician, and if there was a piano, fiddle, or guitar nearby, you could count on him to play. Music was a central part of his life, especially when he was sharing it with his family. Ted also had a love for sports, frequently enjoying a round of golf or a bowling game with friends and family.
Ted was incredibly proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. He was thrilled when his grandson, Keaton, followed in his footsteps and enlisted in the Army. Ted's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Dianne Blashinsky; daughters Krista (Tim) Pickens and Amanda (Phillip) Hall; grandchildren Kyle Hall, Hallie (Cory) Mowry, Keaton Hall, Adam and Emily Pickens; great-grandchildren Jaxon and Kelan Hall, and Rylee Mowry; siblings Inda (Dan) Lama, Marsha Wall, Del Rita (Joe) Beeney, Delores Verbus, Donald (Darlene) Blashinsky; numerous nieces, nephews, and his cherished cat, Peaches.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Blashinsky; his brother, John (Pat) Blashinsky Jr.; and his sister, Mary Pratt.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel, 360 East Center St., Marion. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM, with Celebrant Alycia Orcena officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer's and Dementia research or to Hospice of Marion.
