Theodore Anthony "Ted" Derda

Theodore Anthony "Ted" Derda, Jr., age 80, of Peachtree Corners passed away Friday December 13, 2024 at his home.
Ted was born to Theodore A. Derda, Sr. and Caroline (Migut) Derda and grew up in Chicago with his two sisters. His career was as an IT Manager and he worked for Honeywell Bull for over 30 years. During his time there, he was transferred and moved his family to the Atlanta area where he has lived ever since. After he left that company, he worked for The Arthritis Foundation for 15 years.
Once he retired, he enjoyed reading, building models, and caring for his beautiful rose bushes. He loved spending time with his wife and family. He has missed his wife dearly since she passed 8 months ago.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Brian and Maureen Derda, son in law Jeff Weir, grandchildren Kelly Derda, Caitlin Derda, Jackson Weir and Lindsey Weir, sisters Patricia Ziola and Margaret Derda. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Georgene Derda and his daughter, Charlene.
A funeral mass will be said at 2:30 PM Thursday December 19, 2024 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 11045 Parsons Road, Duluth GA 30097 with Father Paul Flood officiating. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park in Peachtree Corners. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday evening at Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes and Crematory Peachtree Corners Chapel.
