Theodore (Teddy) Durniak, age 96, of Winona, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on June 17, 1929, in Yonkers, New York, Teddy lived a long and full life defined by devotion to his country, his craft, and most of all, his family.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served his nation with honor and dedication, carrying those same values throughout his life. After his service, Teddy built a legacy with his hands and his heart. An extraordinary builder, he had a gift for turning visions into reality whether constructing a home, crafting something by hand, doing puzzles, or helping a neighbor with a project. His craftsmanship was matched only by his generosity.
Above all, Teddy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Patricia, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years. Together they built not only a home, but also a blended family rooted in love and laughter. He was a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found his greatest joy in time spent with family whether gathered around the table (because Teddy loved to eat), swapping stories, or simply enjoying each other's company.
Teddy will be remembered for his steady strength, his kind heart, and the example he set through a life well-lived. His family takes comfort in knowing that his love and legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Maryanne (Jeff); stepdaughter, Pamela (Christopher); stepson, William (Brionne); four grandsons, John Thomas, Anthony, William, and Jude; three granddaughters, Megan, Ashleigh (Garrett), and Addiana; and two great-grandchildren, Liliana and Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
