Margaret Dacus-Gabbard

Margaret Ann Dacus-Gabbard was born September 29, 1948 in Tyler, Texas, where she lived her entire life. She previously worked at Levi Strauss, Mason Tyler Furniture Manufacturer, K-Mart, and the Fishhook Café at the Conoco gas station. She was once a member of Pine Springs Baptist Church.
Margaret enjoyed many hobbies, including diamond art, watching QVC, and creating a variety of arts and crafts. She will be remembered for her creativity and her kind, generous spirit.
Margaret passed away at the age of 77 on October 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gabbard; son, Jerry Wayne Gabbard; daughter, Tabitha Gabbard; parents, Jessie and Helen Dacus; and grandchild, Devon Gabbard.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hurst; brothers, Doyle Dacus and David Dacus; grandchildren, Amber Gabbard, Desiree Gabbard, Cody Gabbard, Darrel Burris, Morgan Tyler, Blake Hurst, and Jason Hurst; great-grandchildren, Emorye Gardner, Alexis Hurst, Isla Jo Hurst, Sutton Tyler, Declan Tyler, Maxx Reid, Echo Reid, and Ryker Burris; nieces, Nicole Dacus, Kimberly Lerma, and Stephanie Dacus; nephew, Brandon Dacus; and her special friend, Ray Sparks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas.
