Theodore FISHER Obituary

November 2, 1941 - April 12, 2025

Spokane Valley - Theodore "Ted" H. Fisher Jr., beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, boss, Veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, at the age of 83, after a day filled with love and visits from his family. His passing was calm and sacred-a true meeting with Jesus moment-with his devoted wife by his side.

Ted was born on November 2, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, to Theodore and Katherine Fisher. He was the youngest of four and grew up alongside his siblings and is survived by his sister, Susan Stokes. He was preceded in death by his twin sisters, Janice and Janet.

For nearly 54 years, Ted was the cherished husband of Deanna Fisher. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, love, and unwavering support. He was the proud father of four daughters: Tammy O'Hanlon (Vince), Michelle Drake, Tracy Fisher, and Melissa Hardaway (Brian). His legacy continues through them and his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one more on the way, who all held a special place in his heart.

Ted graduated from West Valley High School in 1959 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and carried that same sense of duty and commitment into every area of his life. He held many jobs over the years and was a true jack of all trades-able to build, fix, or figure out just about anything. He was respected and remembered by many of his employees for his fairness, kindness, and humor. His favorite job, though, was one he shared with his wife: together, they opened and operated the Great American Cookie Company in the late 1970s. For almost 10 years, they poured their hearts into that business before deciding to sell. He was also a proud member and former officer of the Greater Spokane Elks Lodge.

Ted will be remembered for his infectious humor, kind heart, and joyful spirit. He had a gift for making others laugh and always brought light into the lives of those around him. A dedicated provider and hardworking man, Ted was also a man of deep faith whose life reflected grace, humility, and love. His family always knew they had his support-steady, strong, and sure.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, service, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

As a colleague and friend of Deanna for years, I was always struck by the beauty of the relationship they had. They still mooned over each other and were always smiling and loving. It was beautiful to witness. Ted was delightful, charming and a just a sweetheart and that´s how I will remember him. To Deanna, I love you and I am praying for peace for you and the girls as you cope with this loss. I hope to see you soon.

Dear Ted,

You were born 9 days before I was and we met in the first grade at Dishman School and were classmates for 12 years, until we graduated from West Valley High. You will always be a part of the good memories of my life. I'm sure you are smiling down on all of us from a wonderful place of Peace.
