Theodore "Ted" Lester

Theodore V. “Ted” Lester passed away in his home on October 15, 2023. 
Loving husband to Joan Lester.
Devoted father to Renee Lester (Demetrius Owens) and Paul (Lara) Lester.
Loving grandfather to Daniel, Ana, and Edward.
Dear brother to John (JoAnn).
Fond uncle to John, Janine, Bonnie, Glenn, Linda, Laura, Mark, Christine, and Robert.

Ted was born to Raymond and Mary Lester in Chicago on July 1, 1936. 
He was interested in electronics from an early age, which developed into a 44-year career at Motorola as an Electrical Engineer during which he was awarded 16 patents. 
His technical skills and friendly ease at starting conversations led him to volunteer at St. Maria Goretti parish (now Holy Virgin Martyrs), where he was a long-time parishioner. 
He loved his family, and he loved dogs, the family home was seldom without a cherished pet. 
In recent years he became active in amateur radio (call sign AB9SZ) and enjoyed the friendships he formed with fellow members of the Schaumburg Amateur Radio Club. He took pride in having passed his Technician, General, and Extra Class amateur radio license tests in the same sitting. 
Ted always enjoyed finding solutions to problems, be they mechanical, electronic, or sudoku. 

He was deeply loved by his family and will be dearly missed by all his friends.
