Theodore Norman

Theodore R. Norman, 87, passed away peacefully on October 15th, 2025 with his wife and children at his side. Ted was born in 1938 in Cortland, NY. In 1956, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a mechanic while stationed in Hawaii. Ted was employed for 24 years at Hawaiian Electric as an instrument technician. The most fulfilling part of his time in Hawaii was meeting the love of his life, Leilani, and starting a family.
In 1988, Ted and his family moved to Moravia, NY and established a family farm. Ted was not one to sit still. He enjoyed horseback riding, going for motorcycle rides with Leilani, and traveling in the RV. He could often be found outside restoring old tractors to their original beauty. Ted also enjoyed visiting with friends and family, sharing his love of Jesus with all who were blessed to be in his presence.
Ted and Leilani cherished their marriage of over 50 years, and were the foundation of their growing family. Ted is survived by his wife, Leilani, a daughter Trude (Paul) Morse, and a son Trever (Melissa) Norman. He was a proud "Papa" to his grandchildren Michael (Hannah) Morse, Paul (Oksana) Morse, David (Brianna) Morse, Malakai Morse, Lukas Norman, and Aidan Norman, along with his great-granddaughter Olena Morse.
The family would like to welcome guests to a gathering at Groton Assembly of God in Groton, NY on Saturday, October 25 from 9-11am with a Celebration of Life immediately following. In honoring Ted's wishes, the family asks those who attend to wear colorful attire, as he wanted this to be a joyful occasion.
