THEODORE NUSSBAUM Obituary

NUSSBAUM--Theodore "Ted" Passed away on November 3rd, at age 90. A man of substance, intelligence, and charm, Ted was a classic New Yorker, who grew up in Rockaway Beach. He studied law and was a partner in Mayer, Nussbaum, Katz & Baker, P.C., representing Atlantic Records. In time, he became a solo practitioner. He wielded granular knowledge of music contracts, licensing, and royalties. Wanting to make a difference, he volunteered as an arbitrator in Small Claims Court in NYC for 25 years and published a lively blog as "Arbitration Man." Always curious about the world, he was an avid reader and regular at his local library. Along with courses at Hunter College, book signings and lectures at Roosevelt House captured his interest. He loved music and was a member of the Met Mob, a group of friends who met regularly at the Metropolitan Museum. Although he may have left his wife, Anita Poll, with whom he was together for 43 years, four children: Larry (Ayelet) Nussbaum, Elizabeth Nussbaum, Neil Nussbaum, Jonathan (Victoria Hoiles) Nussbaum, a brother Henry Nussbaum; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving in-laws and friends, he will live forever in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, please share a kindness.
