Theodore Tonissen Obituary
1934–2025
Ted Tonissen, age 90, of Panama City, FL, passed peacefully on October 24th, 2025. He was born to Theodore Tonissen and Veronica O'Connell on November 28th, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York.
He will be remembered for his wit, warmth and humor as well as his service, dedication and commitment to God, country and community. He was a proud Marine who served in the Korean War and carried the spirit of the Corps with him throughout his life.
He is predeceased by his wife, Anne, sons, Kirby and Walter, and his parents. He is survived by his brother, Eugene, daughter, Anne Marie, and grandchildren, Ashley, Patrick and Kristi, and great-grandchildren, Keegan, Alastar, Sydney and Lachlan.
Funeral services will be held on November 10th at 12pm at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home, (2403 Harrison Ave, Panama City).
Friends and family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service and a celebration of life at Panama City VFW Post #2185 will follow.
Burial will take place at Tallahassee National Cemetery on November 12th at 1pm EST.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to "Toys for Tots" this Christmas season.
