Saginaw Twp., Michigan

Loving mother, grandmother and special friend passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Roosevelt House Assisted Living in Hemlock, Michigan. Age 98 years. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Slowinski) Waligorski, Theresa was born June 30, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan and a lifelong resident. She was married to Elmer LaDouce and Carl May. Theresa was employed as a Federal Employee for 30 years, retiring from the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, The Brown Bag Lunch Group, League of Catholic Women, TAT Board for the Catholic Federal Credit Union, G.M. Girls Club, Sang with the Germania Coral Society, and Advisory Committee of Restoration Community Outreach. She loved her church, her grandchildren, playing the piano, singing, Polka Dancing, helping the homeless and socializing.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son David and Belinda LaDouce, Saginaw; her grandson Adam Ladouce, Saginaw; two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Brantley LaDouce, Saginaw; her Godchild, Kevin Ryle; special friend and caregiver, Bonnie Schultz: many nieces and nephews. Theresa was preceded in death by her son, Donald LaDouce; her sister, Leona Sizick; and two brothers, Leonard Waligorski and Ted Waligorski; and a special friend Al J. Penzkoffer.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Honoring Mrs. May's wishes, cremation will follow with private burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Friday from 12:00 noon until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
