Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 87 years. Son of the late Ralph and Edith (Hastings) Tabor, Richard was born April 14, 1938, in Highland Park, Michigan. He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force. Richard married Marlene M. Ross, his loving wife of 60 years, on October 10, 1964. She survives him. Richard had been employed by Gerber Foods as an accountant-representative for 34 years, retiring in October of 1997. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. Richard coached Amateur Hockey at the Saginaw Amateur Hockey Association. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, enjoyed traveling to Italy, Spain, Portugal, winters in Mexico and meeting people.

Surviving besides his wife Marlene are two sons, John and Mary Tabor, Midland; Christopher and Michelle Tabor, Bloomington, Illinois; his grandson, Cameron Tabor, Bloomington, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Tabor Jr., Lyle Tabor and Norbert Tabor.

Honoring Mr. Tabor's wishes cremation has taken place. A private Memorial Service will take place at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post # 439 and the U.S. Air Force. A private burial of cremains will take place in Mt. Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center.
