Theresa Overbeek, age 90, went to be with her heavenly Father on June 8, 2024.
Theresa was born and raised in the Hamilton area. All who knew her will remember her humor and quick wit. During retirement, she and Stan enjoyed many years of bus trips around the country and winters in Florida where they made many new friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Jennie Schaap; brother, Jerome (Ione) Schaap; and sister, Beatrice (Ira) VanderKolk.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Stanley (Stan) Overbeek; children, Nancy (Dan) Smith, Glenn (Vicki) Overbeek, Rita (Kelly) Hoezee, Rhonda (Steve) Lameyer; grandchildren, Mitch (Tegan) Nuismer, Scott (Betsy) Nuismer (great-grandson, Samuel), Ashley (Jim) Duer, Erica Overbeek, Kurtis (Laura) Hoezee (great-granddaughter, Kacey), Katelyn (Tyler) Bliek, Allison Lameyer, Paige Lameyer, and Chase Lameyer.
Visitation with the family is 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Hamilton Christian Reformed Church, 3596 47th St. Hamilton, MI 49419.
Burial to take place in East Saugatuck Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Theresa's honor may be given to Gentiva Hospice of Holland. www.yntemafh.com
