Theresa Lynn Toohey, 61, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 27, 1963, to Charles and Rita Geraghty in Louisville, Theresa lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, Theresa’s greatest joy came from her family. She cherished every moment spent with her boys and grandson, and they were the center of her world. She was always excited for holiday gatherings, where she found pure happiness basking in the glow of her loved ones. Theresa had a gift for making everyone feel special, whether through her heartfelt birthday poems or thoughtful posts that always carried a personal touch.
Theresa’s heart was as vast as her sense of humor, and she had a sharp wit that could brighten any room. Whether enjoying a picnic in the park, taking in the beautiful lights at Lights Under Louisville, or simply relaxing on the swing with her father, Theresa valued the time spent with family above all else. Her warm embrace, caring words, and unending support made her an irreplaceable confidant to all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love, care, and laughter will live on in their hearts forever.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Geraghty and Rita Miller Geraghty; and a brother, David Geraghty.
Left to cherish her memory, Theresa is survived by her 3 sons, Craig Toohey, Jonathon Toohey (Lindsey), and Joshua Toohey; her beloved grandson, Xavier Toohey; her siblings, Mary Hass (Ray), Charlie Geraghty (Sue), Pat Simmon, Joe Geraghty (Debbie), Billy Geraghty, Alice Leon (Michael), Debbie Spalding (Gary), Denis Geraghty, Rita Roarx (Danny), Monica Geraghty (Mike Thrasher), and Mark Geraghty (Jeannine Williams); special friend, Linda Klawitter; many nieces/nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Theresa Toohey will be held at 12 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the funeral home. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.
