Therese Fawber, age 89, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 2024 at Rosecrest Assisted Living in Mars.
Born on October 7, 1934 in Dortmund, Gemany, she was the daughter of the late Erna and Fritz Dehr. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 17.
She joined her sister, Ruth Knaby (married to Charles) and settled in Enola, PA. Therese initially babysat her nephews (William and Herb), then took a position with the Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Harrisburg. She met her husband to be at a USO dance in Harrisburg, PA. C. Fred Fawber was the love of her life. They lived in Camp Hill, PA in a home that they made into their small paradise. They shared a long, loving marriage and were blessed to have one daughter, Heidi L. Fawber.
Therese loved gardening, cooking, sewing, playing the piano, dancing and almost anything that required creativity. She worked for many years, part time as a floral designer.
Therese and Fred loved to travel and they shared many trips back to Germany to visit family and friends. The also traveled to numerous other destinations in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred on October 20, 2011 and by her brother, Bernie and sister, Ruth.
Surviving is her daughter, Heidi (husband Robert C. Ferguson), her grandchildren, Elise C. Ferguson (husband Craig McMillin) and Ian C. Ferguson, as well a a great-grandchild, Lachlan C. McMillin.
Therese will always be remembered as a kind and loving soul who enjoyed the beauty in life that music, plants and animals bring to us.
Services were private. Burial was in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA. Arrangements were under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
