Donald R. Fawber, 84, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 at the Gatehouse Hospice.
He was born in Cowan, Union County, on April 26, 1939, a son of the late Thomas Fawber and Bernadine Fawber Toti.
Don was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from February of 1959 until February of 1961.
Don retired in 2001 after over 30 years from PennDOT. He was a member of the former Mater Dolorosa, now St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Don is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Patricia "Patty" (Leta) Fawber; his children, Carmen M. Fawber of New York and Dawn (John) Proffitt of Huston, TX and his beloved cat, Bella.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Fawber and his brother Thomas Fawber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W Fourth St., Williamsport PA 17701 with his pastor, Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations may be made to the Susquehanna Health Foundation, for the benefit of the Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport PA 17701 or to LAPS, the Lycoming Animal Protective Society (a no kill animal shelter), 630 Wildwood Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701
