Her lifetime soul mate and tennis doubles partner, Bruce Fuller, predeceased her in 2015 and surely greeted her at heaven’s door with a glass of wine and big kiss and hug.
Born on January 25th,1930 in Stamford, CT to Thomas and Teresa Barry, she was a sister to Vivian (Thomas) Mullen and Marie (Charles) Leonard. She was a loving and involved aunt to Kevin (Suzanne) and Garry (Deirdra) Leonard and Mary (Michael) Feeley and Tom (Patti) Mullen and her great nieces and nephews and their children.
Therese was the gracious hostess to her many friends and family at her home in Greenwich, CT where she and Bruce hosted many BBQs and pool parties. Having graduated from Southern CT State College, she taught elementary school for over 30 years at the Mianus and Cos Cob Schools in Greenwich. She was a member of the CT Player Theatre Group for many years. Therese and Bruce spent many fun-filled hours on Long Island Sound with their boating friends and were active members of the Grass Island Boat Club.
Upon retirement Therese and Bruce moved to Martha’s Vineyard where Therese was a very well-liked substitute teacher at the high school. She was an active member of the Alter Guild at Grace Episcopal Church. Later, Therese and Bruce moved to Falmouth, MA where they remained active in the community and volunteered their time to Falmouth Hospital ER, the Coonamessett Pond Association and the Lochstead Community where they enjoyed life to the fullest.
