Thomas Henry "Tom" Abbott, 41, of Lookout Mountain, GA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Tom was a freelance contractor who lived a life of quiet devotion and selflessness. He lovingly sat with and cared for his grandparents from the moment they became ill until their last breath was taken. He was doing the same for his grandfather, Marty Gass, and his heart for service & compassion never wavered. Although he never sought wealth or possessions, Tom's true riches were found in his kindness, generosity, and the way he showed up for others. With nothing more than the clothes on his back, he carried a wealth of love & care that made him one of the richest men in the world. He was dealt with many unfair cards in life, but not once would he say "life ain't fair" or "why me?" Instead, he faced each challenge with grace & a steady spirit. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Keesha Abbott, papaw, Clifford Abbott, granny, Mary Jo Hawes, grandpa, Lee Turner, brother, Josh Minor, & uncle, Larry Abbott. Survivors include his wife, Sonya Abbott; loving mother, Sandy (Lance) Browne; dad, Mike Abbott; nanny, JoAnn Abbott; grandma, Dottie (Marty) Gass; aunt, Tricia Helsel; aunt, Kristi Cutts; uncles, Johnny (Cassie) Turner, Tim (Sherrie) Turner, & Josh Abbott; niece, Keira Thornton; many cousins and dear friends will cherish his memory as well. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Edgewood Baptist Church in Trenton, GA with Bro. Billy Reeves officiating. Tom dearly loved Lookout Mountain and will be laid to rest at Ascalon Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2nd from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at Edgewood Baptist Church, 11041 Highway 11 South, Trenton, GA. Arrangements are under the care of Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
