Thomas Foxen Anderson, Jr., 83, of Westfield, IN, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 17, 1942, in Woodbury, NJ to the late Thomas Foxen, Sr. and Wilma Fay (Ecton) Anderson.

At the age of 13, Tom became the twenty-fifth boy in France to ever earn and achieve an Eagle Scout rank, known as Raiders.

After receiving his BA in mathematics from Carleton College in 1964, Thomas continued his education at the University of Minnesota, acquiring his master's in mathematics.

As a computer engineer, Tom worked at Bell Labs in NJ for several years at the beginning of his career, in the late 60s and 70s. With his move to MA, his primary workplaces were Compugraphic and then Telesis that later became Cadence which he retired from.

Tom had many interests and hobbies. He was an amazing woodworker having designed and created toy chests for his grandchildren, and many furniture items. Along with the woodworking, he also became skilled at woodcarving, spending time on each intricate piece. Tom had a green thumb and enjoyed tending his flower and vegetable gardens. Another hobby was making cheese, such as ricotta, cheddar, mozzarella, and goat cheese.

Tom was fluent in French, as well as Norwegian. He traveled widely, with favorite destinations including Norway and France.

Survivors include his daughters, Vicki (Janos Pusztai) Anderson and Karlene (Joshua) Drake; 2 granddaughters, Tabitha Drake and Hannah Drake; and sister, Jessie Foxen.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11am on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2201 E 106th Street, Carmel, IN 46032. Thomas's Service will be live-streamed via https://live.kogcarmel.org/
