Thomas Jerome ( Tom) Ashley, Jr. passed away peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona after battling cancer for several months at age fifty-nine on January 21, 2025.
Tom was born in Washington, D.C. on February 9, 1965. His early years were spent in Atlanta, Georgia where he made many friendships and became a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. His family moved to New York City and Tom graduated from Trinity School where he developed his avid love of reading and writing. He was an outstanding runner and captained the Trinity track team. He then went on to Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut graduating in 1987.
He followed all sports with a keen eye and wrote many newspaper articles applauding accomplishments but also pointing out the major deficiencies within professional sports. He avidly followed tennis with passion, greatly enjoying the competitive back and forth of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. He closely followed the plight and injustices of Native Americans. He generously offered hours reading to the blind.
Tom spent many years consulting in the travel industry in both Atlanta and Tucson, Arizona where he'd lived for the past twelve years. He also worked in marketing for Stan The Man, Incorporated.
Tom is survived by his parents, Tom Ashley, Sr. and Geraldine Ashley, his sister Camille Ashley Pinkerton (Robert) and their sons Charles and Clifford and daughter Breck, his brother Christopher (Jimena) and their son Lucas.

Tom and I were roommates for a couple of years in Atlanta. He was an awesome person and I sure hate to read that he´s passed. He was peculiar in some ways, but that´s what made him interesting. I´m grateful to have known him. My condolences to all who loved him and miss him. Thank you Tom, for being my friend.

I was roommates with Tom for a few years in Doraville. Great guy! I helped him with his health drinks and we championed meetings around town. Tom had a keen way of observing life and challenging you to think about issues from all sides. Will miss you Tom!
