Thomas Michael Babon

Thomas Micheal Babon, age 85, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and honored Vietnam veteran, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025. His life was defined by courage, loyalty, and a deep love for his country and for those he held closest to his heart.

Tom served his country with distinction in both the Navy and the Army as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. The discipline, strength, and resilience he carried from his years of service shaped the man he was throughout his life. That same dedication guided him long after his military career, influencing the values he lived by and the family he raised.

Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife of 35 years, Maureen, of Belfast, Ireland. Together they shared a life filled with love and adventure, dividing their years between Naples and Belfast.

A lifelong hard worker, Tom was steady, dependable, and committed to doing things the right way. He took great pride in his work and instilled the same strong work ethic in his sons. Through his example, he taught them responsibility, perseverance, and the importance of standing tall in the face of challenges.

As a father, Tom was supportive, patient and encouraging. As a grandfather, he was warm and loving-always ready with a smile, a story, or a reassuring word. His grandchildren will forever remember his kindness, humor, and the special way he made each of them feel seen and loved.

Tom will be remembered for his integrity, generosity, and the strong presence he brought into every room. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down, the lives he touched, and the family he cherished so deeply.

He is survived by his sister Josephine, his brother Paul, and his children Tommy (Lise), Greg (Kathi), Eric (Dawn), Peter, and Aine. He was predeceased by his son John. Tom is also survived by his grandchildren Lia, Natalie, Eric, Danny, Jack, Declan, Hope, and Charlie, as well as many loving nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

A service to honor Tom's life and military service will be held at Shikany's Funeral Home in Bonita Springs at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable man he was.
