Thomas F. Barile

Thomas F. Barile, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022, surrounded by family.

He was born on January 30, 1938, in Peabody, Massachusetts, son to the late Frank and Mary Sedlar Barile.

Tom graduated from Lynchburg College in 1961. He worked for Babcock & Wilcox for many years in managerial positions held in Virginia, Illinois, Ohio and Texas. He retired in 1994 and moved to Erie, PA to run the Riley Stoker plant for several years. Later he worked part-time at Wegmans for 10 years.

He loved golfing, bowling, following sports and occasionally "donating" to casino.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Loretta; two brothers, Roger, of Topsfield, MA, and Dennis (Sue), of Sterling Heights, MI; son, Vincent, of Lynchburg, VA; two granddaughters, Natalie Larsen, of Stoneham, MA, who he raised since she was 5 years old and Courtney (Travis) Campbell, of Lynchburg, VA; one great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Those who met Tom remembered him as a tall, large man not just in size but also his heart that was so full of love for his wife, family and friends. He was a smart, kind, friendly and gentle person. He will be missed but not forgotten.

There will be no visitation or funeral service per Tom's wishes. Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th St., Erie 16502.
