FISHKILL - Conrad A. Barile, PhD, 84, a resident of Dutchess County since 1968, died after a short battle with cancer on November 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx on April 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Conrad and Agnes (Mitchell) Barile. Conrad graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Manhattan College in the Bronx, going on to receive his Master's degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and then his Doctorate in Physical Chemistry from Stony Brook University. Conrad had been employed as an Engineer at IBM in East Fishkill for 37 years, where he was awarded 7 patents and 3 inventions until his retirement in 2005.

Conrad's Catholic faith was paramount in his life, and his family was his center. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Columba Church, where he had served on the Parish Council and the Church Campaign Committee. He had also served on the Policy and Governance Committee of the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Conrad also enjoyed golfing, skiing, biking, boating, and traveling across the country and the world.

On September 3, 1966, at St. Joseph's Church in Oradell, NJ, Conrad married the love of his life, Suzanne Morneau, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Tom McCurley, Kimberly and Joseph Bocchino, Michele and Matthew Anderson; his grandchildren, Erin Johnson (husband Matthew), Matthew, Colleen, Clare and Sean McCurley, Anthony, Daniel and Anna Bocchino, Jack, Emily, Abigail and Hunter Anderson; his great-grandchildren, Eliana and Asher Johnson; his brothers, Raymond Barile (Dolores, deceased), Harold and Patricia Barile, George and Theresa Barile; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on, November 28th, from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, November 29th, at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.

To Suzanne, Lisa, Kimberly and Michele,
First, I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of you for your loss.
I worked with and for a time I reported directly to Connie for several years at IBM. I know he loved IBM but it paled in comparison to how much he loved his family, especially the four of you. When he wasn´t counseling me he was always talking about his family. I loved my time IBM too and when I retired after 47 years in East Fishkill I moved to NW Ohio to be nearer to my Son and his family. Losing touch with my really good friends, like Connie, was the most difficult part of that move here.
This morning I received at least 4 text messages about Connie´s passing. It was definitely very sad news but knowing Connie I know he is now in a place with his Lord and Savior looking down on all of us. May he rest in peace.
