Thomas Edward "TJ" Barnett Jr.

'TJ', Thomas Edward Barnett, Jr., 39, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma was born September 23, 1985, to Thomas Edward Barnett, Sr. and Kathy (Pennington) Barnett in Muskogee and passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Fort Gibson. TJ was a cherished longtime resident of Fort Gibson, known for his friendly demeanor and strong ties to the community. A proud graduate of Muskogee High School, class of 2004, he showcased his remarkable work ethic as a skilled laborer in tower construction and maintenance. At the time of his passing, he was recognized for his expertise and dedication in his field. He was a vibrant and adventurous soul whose passions painted his life with joy. A dedicated outdoorsman, he cherished long days spent fishing on area lakes and frequenting his favorite hunting spots. TJ had an undeniable appreciation for good-looking women, often charming those around him with his engaging personality and warm smile. With a guitar always at his side, he enjoyed strumming tunes and cracking open a cold one from time to time. A passionate explorer, TJ delighted in the thrill of searching for arrowheads. He leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. TJ is lovingly survived by his daughters, Rhyley Royse and husband Bryar, and Kyleigh Barnett both of Muskogee, OK; a special granddaughter on the way, Jenevieve Royse of Muskogee; his mother, Kathy Barnett of Fort Gibson, OK; his sister, Brittany Barnett of Fort Gibson; his niece, Kieli Clark of Muskogee; his nephews, R.J. and Noah Clark both of Muskogee; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends. He is now reunited with his father, Tommy Barnett; his grandmothers, Sonja Pennington and Betty Barnett; his grandfathers, Teddy Pennington and Johnny Barnett; and his uncle, Marck Pennington. A family conducted celebration of TJ's life will be held 11AM, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Community Gospel Center with Pastor John Overton officiating. Trey Mitchell, George Barton, Robert (Berto) Lafave, Jesse Cowden, Josh Caywood, Tracy Duran, Gene Ellis, and David Pennington will serve as honorary urn bearers.
