Thomas "Tom" Windell Bean, age 70, of Joplin passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
Tom was born on April 7, 1955 in Wichita, KS, to the late union of Waymon and Imelda (Fagan) Bean. He was a 1973 graduate of Valley Center High School and then went on to obtain his bachelors degree in business. Once entering the work force, he worked as a safety manager for Kawneer and then Butterball. He married Bridget Whitaker in 1994 in Rogers, AR and she survives of the home. He enjoyed fishing and golfing in his spare time. Tom and Bridget were members of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church for the last 4 years. He was the true definition of a humble and hardworking man who put others needs in front of his own.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his two children, Anthony Bean and Elizabeth Bean; and one brother, Jimmy Bean.
Tom is survived by his wife, Bridget Bean; eight siblings, Kenny Bean and wife, Debby, Dianna Harder, Debbie Bean, Janie McCormick and husband, Byron, Lori Balzer and husband, Morey, Steven Bean and wife, Tammy, Teresa Nash and husband, John, and Patricia "Patty" Roberts and husband, Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bridget and Tom's beautiful group of siblings, I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I know Tom to be a giving , caring man who had a smile for everyone. I have very fond memories of Sundays at Grandpa and Grandma Fagan's house playing ball in the shadow of the oil tanks, withe the moms and dads sitting around the yard laughing and telling stories. In the wintertime we all crowded into the little oilfield house, the men playing cards while the women visited and corralled the hoard of active kids that we were. I loved those times as I'm sure Tom did. Hugs and prayers to the whole Bean crew. I love you. Susie
