Thomas Frederick Bell, 84, passed away Tuesday May 14, 2024. He was born February 13, 1940, in Madison County North Carolina to the late Edward Eugene and Nina Stines Bell. Thomas proudly served four and a half years in the United States Navy, and then enlisted in the United States Army and served for sixteen and a half more years until retirement. During his time in the military he would serve on an aircraft carrier during the Cuban Missile Crisis, tour the Mediterranean, and earn two Bronze Stars for his service in the Vietnam War. Thomas was a faithful and devoted member of North Point Baptist Church and an active member of the Gideons. He loved kids whether they were his children, grandchildren, neighbors, or church members. One of his greatest joys was taking his kids to shop at Lowes Hardware or Walmart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Edward Bell, Franklin Bell, David Bell, and Susan Nieto-Reyes. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Roediger Bell; four children, Daniel Timothy Bell, Revonda Marlene Denny (James), Sherri Renee Bell, and Thomas F. Bell II(Beth); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six siblings; Alvin Bell (Dona), Roy Bell (Elmer), Michael Bell (Cathy), Gary Bell (Vicki), Judy Dixon, and Richard Bell; and a heartfelt daughter; Julie Adams. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM Saturday, May 18, 2024, at North Point Baptist Church with Rev. Skip Furrow, Rev. Jason Fletcher, and Mr. Tom Bell II officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church. Burial will take place at 9:00AM Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Salisbury National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Point Baptist Church, 4980 University Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27106, or to Gideons International Winston Salem Camp, P.O.
