Thomas Wayne Bendall, Sr., of Prince George, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 18, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Harrison Bendall, Sr. and Margaret Hamlin Bendall; brother, Glenn Harrison Bendall, Jr.; and his daughter, Laurie LeBlanc.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose; son, Thomas Bendall, Jr. (Diana); grandkids, Britney, Grace (Cody), Haley, and Ryan; great-grandkids, Haley, Caden, Lola, and Gwen; sister, Sue (Barney); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather— to Thomas, there was no stranger. Thomas spent his years in the 80th Division U.S. Army Band, working at Brenco, Hopewell Convalescent, Rollins Painting, and G M Clements. Thomas was an active member of Disputanta Ruritan Club, Prince George Historical Society, Sussex Newville Hunt Club, and Faith Lutheran Church. Thomas is mostly known for the 43 years that he dedicated to Prince George County’s Recreation Department coaching baseball. There was never a field too far to watch his grandkids play softball and baseball; he could always be found sitting in the stands. If it wasn’t ball season it was hunting season. Thomas enjoyed the early mornings at the hunt club surrounded by his son, grandkids, and friends.
