Thomas Edward Benigni

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Benigni of Algonac, MI, age 78, on October 8, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many.
Tom was born on January 15,1946 in Detroit, MI to parents Albert and Anne (Trapp) Benigni and was the brother to Robert Benigni, JoAnne (Benigni) Chida, and James Benigni. Tom lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. He attended St. Raymond School in Detroit and graduated from Nativity High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Vogelgesang. Following his service, he was a serial entrepreneur owning and operating several businesses including Scientific Products, Inc., US Rolling Steel Door Inc., Motor City Door Company Inc., and Taylor Door Company, all in the entry and garage door industry. He enjoyed boating and fishing but most of all he loved people. His welcoming demeanor and love of laughter built strong friendships across all generations and friends old and new. He was
affectionately known by many as "Big T."
Tom is survived by his wife Rosemarie (Allessio) Benigni and was a loving father to his three sons Todd Benigni, Scott Benigni, and Brad Benigni. He adored his daughters-in-law Mariana Dalto and Carla (Yarger) Benigni and dearly misses Rachel (Layou) Benigni who he will join in heaven. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Henry, Lucas, Alexander, Stella, Sofia, Colin and Gabriella who lit up his world. Tom is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be hosted at Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park, MI on Sunday, October 13th from 3:00PM – 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14th at 10:00AM at St. Paul on the Lake in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI.
