Thomas Frank Bernard

Thomas Frank Bernard, age 81, of Christiansburg, passed away on September 8, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1944, to the late Raymond John and Fernande Irene St. Onge Bernard. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Steven Bernard. Tom graduated from Berkley High School in Berkley, MI in 1963. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served until 1969. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Valerie L. Tweedie; son, Maurice Lawrence Bernard; daughters, Maria Jeannie Riley, Grace M. Calpus, Laura A. Ulmer; grandchildren, Stephen Riley, Donovan Riley, Katherine Riley, Todd Bernard, and Alex Bernard. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Christiansburg with Dr. Mark Frazier officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christiansburg Police Department Citizen Support Group (CPDCSG), 10 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073, and/or the Boys Home of Virginia, 414 Boys Home Road, Covington, VA 24426.
