Dr. Thomas Kent Beyl, age 74, of Washington CH, went to his eternal home on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
He was born on June 21, 1950 in Montgomery County to the late Thomas Henry and Doris Elizabeth (Weatherhead) Beyl. He was a 1968 graduate of Tipp City High School. After graduation, Tom attended the University of Cincinnati where he obtained his degree in pharmacy. He then enrolled and graduated from The Ohio State University Dentistry program. After ten years of dental practice in Laurel, Montana, he and his family felt a calling to the mission field where they spread the word of God in the Philippines and Russia.
Tom and his family returned home to Fayette County where he again practiced dentistry until his retirement. Tom was a long-time member and Sunday School Teacher at Heritage Memorial Church. He was a current member at the First Baptist Church. Tom was most delighted when he could lead people to Christ. His wife, Janet, described him as humble, funny, and creative, a history buff, a pilot, and an aspiring new author. He was a Bible scholar and enjoyed sharing and teaching the Word of Christ, he also adored time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Janet Ann (McKown) Beyl, whom he married on May 5, 1973; children, Thomas J. (Ilsa) Beyl, and Kathryn A. (Chris) Underwood; grandchildren, Jonathan Beyl, Sonya Beyl, Alex Underwood, and Sadie Underwood; sister, Kathleen (Gary) Groth; and brother-in-law, Dr. James T. McKown, DDS. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special friends.
