Thomas Eldridge “Tom Boy” Bishop, Jr., 98, of South Hill, Virginia went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2024. He was the husband of the late Nancy Bragg Bishop; son of the late, Thomas Eldridge Bishop and Mary Gibson Bishop; brother of the late, Frank Bishop, George Bishop, Gracie Lee McFarland, Dorothy Stone, Edna Jones, Louise Russell, Irene Carter ; half siblings, Mae Bishop Fields, Rob Bishop, and Buck Bishop. He is survived by his wife Imogene Barker Bishop; his son, Thomas E. “Teb” Bishop, III of Powhatan; step-children, Evon Walker, Charlotte Lewis and Carol Chapman all of South Hill, Penny Glenn of Alberta and William Kennedy of Kenbridge; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Tom Boy grew up in Lunenburg County. He served our country in the US Army during WWII. He retired from Stamie E. Lyttle and Company as a plumber after 26 years. He enjoyed keeping a clean yard, growing a garden and pier fishing at Nags Head. He loved to dance and grow and share watermelons. He attended Oakland Christian Church and will always be remembered for his honesty and the love he had for others. The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge from 1PM until start of services at 2PM. Interment to follow at the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Oakland Christian Church, C/O Kim Jackson, 7571 Craig Mill Road, Kenbridge, VA 23944.
