Thomas Lee Blair, affectionately known as “Tom,” was born December 11,1939 in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication and service to his family and friends.
Tom, the only surviving child of Rosa Mai Moore, was educated in the Nashville public school system of Davidson County.
As a graduate of Pearl High School, he was blessed to begin a successful career in the automobile business earning numerous awards. His even temper, calm demeanor, and dedication afforded Tom the opportunity to advance at a time when many people of color were restricted.
Tom’s success selling the newly introduced Volkswagon, paved the way for him to become one of Volkswagon’s top trainers.
Tom was a loving, and caring, husband (Delorse Dotson Lane), father, grandfather, and friend. On June 29,2025, while hospitalized, Tom prayed to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. From that moment forward Tom expressed a peace that truly surpassed all understanding. He stated, “I understand that my health is failing, but I am not worried about a thing.”
He was preceded in death by his parents Rosa Mai Moore, (Morgan), grandparents, Robert C. Blair, Sr. and Mary Ella Blair, two aunts, Helen, and Thelma, and an uncle who served as his brother, Robert C. Blair Jr.
Tom leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, faithful companion, Delorse Crawford, son, Steven D. Blair, daughters, Brenda Blair Kirk (Wendell), Carla T. Colston (Michael), and Jeki Edwards Blair; grandchildren include, Kandice Blair. Zachary (Michael), Chelsea Joy. Foster, (Janssen), Stevonna Brenyale Blair, Morgan Camille Colston, Carmen M. Arizmendi (Jorge), six grandchildren and a host of devoted friends.
