Carmen Shirell Blair, age 63, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born on April 19, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Carmen lived a beautiful and faith-filled life. Though she had no immediate family, she was deeply loved and cherished by the Joseph Carlisle family, who embraced her as one of their own. She made her home in Cape Girardeau with her close friend, Cindy Ishaak, and surrounded herself with people who became her true family-Angela Carlisle (and her husband the late Joseph Carlisle), and her daughters Michelle, Cindy, Carol, and Kristi, along with their husbands, children, and grandchildren, all of whom loved Carmen dearly.

Carmen had a warm spirit and a heart that welcomed everyone-she truly never met a stranger. Her faith was the foundation of her life; she prayed and read her Bible daily, finding joy and peace in God's word. Carmen loved life and found happiness in simple pleasures-playing bingo, spending time at family gatherings, and cheering enthusiastically for her favorite teams, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and women's basketball.

Her laughter, kindness, and unwavering faith touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her joyful presence, her generosity of heart, and her deep love for her extended family and friends.

Carmen's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her faith a shining example to all who knew her.

A celebration of Carmen's life will be held on October 26th in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by those who loved her most.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord." - Matthew 25:23
