Donald Eugene Pratt, age 82, of Sikeston, MO, died Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Delta South Skilled Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born April 29, 1943, at Sikeston, MO, to the late Otto Wayman Pratt and Dorothy Arlene Ziegenhorn Pratt, he had lived in Sikeston most of his life and was a graduate of Sikeston High School. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. For eight years he served in the U.S. Army Reserves and had attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sikeston.

A longtime Sikeston businessman, he began his working career with the Standard Oil Company and then owned and operated Pratt Construction Company, later forming a partnership with his son, Stacy. He retired after 50 years in business.

Donald was a civic minded individual and found great pleasure in service to his community. He was a former board member of the Alliance Bank in Sikeston and a proud member of the Sikeston Elks Lodge and the Kiwanis Club of Sikeston. He had served as Boy Scout Master and as part of the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce as a board member. Donald was honored with the Small Business of the Year award by the Chamber. He also was a member of the Sikeston Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree Mason.

On December 19, 1964, he married Marian Clara Oberkramer, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are his sons, Stacy E. Pratt of Sikeston and James (Emily) Pratt of San Antonio, TX; his brothers, Charles (Sue) Pratt and Harry (Vicky) Pratt of Sikeston, MO; four grandchildren, Wyatt Pratt, Will Pratt, Austin Pratt and Maison Pratt. Also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until noon, Friday, October 17, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Private family graveside services will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, plants and gift items, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sikeston Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 234, Sikeston, MO 63801.

Yesterday

Don was a valued member of the Sikeston Kiwanis Club and of the community. I regret that I didn´t get to serve with Don, but the stories that include him are legendary. This photo is of the Kiwanis Club members with 50+ years of service. I listened in awe to these four gentlemen reminiscing about the past endeavors of the Club and the impact it had on the community. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family. RIP brother.
