Thomas Blessing Obituary
OLEAN - Thomas W. Blessing, of 525 Third Ave., Olean, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at his home, with his family by his side.
Born Aug. 5, 1932, in Allegany, he was the son of Elton and Evelyn Todd Blessing. On Aug. 30, 1980, he married Donna Rogers Worth, who survives.
Tom was a graduate of Allegany High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. He worked for Edstroms Construction and for L.C. Whitford in Wellsville.
Tom was a member of the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892.
He enjoyed running, canoeing, NASCAR and playing solitaire. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Notre Dame football fan. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports and the holidays with his family. Tom also enjoyed gardening and canning everything that came from his garden.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nancy Blessing-Havens of North Carolina, Marilyn Moran of Allegany, Billy (Vicki) Blessing of Portville, Brian (Emma) Blessing of New Mexico, Greg Blessing, Kimberly (John) Ricci of Allegany, Lori Cole of Olean, Billy (Becky) Worth of Allegany, Joe (Kristina) Worth of Hamburg and Tommy (Lisa) Worth of Olean; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Kay McCarthy and Mary Jo Mason; and one brother, Mark Blessing.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (Nov. 21, 2022) at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 22, 2022) at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892, 4350 Route 417, Allegany, NY 14760.

One of the nicest guys who ever lived, a true gentlemen. I have not seen Tom in years, but often thought of him...I used to look forward to seeing him at the Burton way back when...he was a pleasure to serve. God Bless You, Tom.
