Thomas Boza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Groce Funeral Home & Cremation Services - West Asheville on Apr. 21, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas "Tom" Allen Boza, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on September 20, 2024, at the age of 66. Thomas was a beacon of joy in our community, known for his infectious smile and warm spirit that touched the lives of everyone he met.
For 40 years, Tom dedicated himself to the art of barbering, where he not only transformed appearances but also fostered friendships. His chair was a place of laughter, storytelling, and camaraderie. Clients became friends, and his ability to listen made everyone feel valued and appreciated.
A passionate musician, Tom found joy sharing melodies with family and friends. Music was his language, a way to connect with others and spread happiness. His love for music enriched our community, and his performances brought people together in celebration.
Tom was also an active member of the Masonic Lodge, where he found purpose in serving others and building lasting bonds. His commitment to the principles of brotherhood, charity, and community service inspired those around him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cherette; his children, Brian Shelton (Laura) and Jason Evans (Mandy); his grandchildren McKinna Tice and Brinnen Shelton; nephews James Larkin (Elaine) and Matthew Weatherill (Silvi); his siblings Steven Boza and Lori Harvest (Jimi Harvest) and many friends, who were the light of his life. Tom is preceded by his parents Joseph Marvin and Eleanor Joyce Green. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love that will forever resonate in our hearts.
Tom will have a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, April 26 at 4:00 p.m. in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Masonic Rites presented by The Nichols-West Asheville Lodge.
Tom Boza will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear friend. Your smile and song will forever echo in our hearts.
