Donna Marie Roberts (Sams), age 66, of Zirconia, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 6, 2026, holding the hand of her husband of 47 years who has been by Donna’s side since they met at age 13.
Donna was born in October 1959 in Carter County, Tennessee, to Gerald Wayne and Betty Ann Sams. She devoted much of her life to caring for children, a calling that reflected her nurturing heart and deep love for others. Donna spent many years working with children, first operating her own business and later serving her community as an assistant teacher, school bus driver, and later as a daycare worker caring for countless children who adored her.
Donna was a faithful member of Connection Point Church of God, where her kindness, faith, and gentle spirit touched many lives. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who were the greatest joys of her life. Donna will be remembered for her kindness to all and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stewart Mark Roberts; her mother, Betty Ann Sams; her children: Christopher Mark Roberts, Rachel Marie Roberts, Skyler Mark Roberts, and Farrah Fay Lasher; her cherished grandchildren: Ethan Tyler Roberts, Eadie Celeste Roberts, Scarlet Rain Roberts, and Abbegail Elaine Price; her siblings, Dennis Wayne Sams (Marsha), and Linda Sams Woodby; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Wayne Sams; and her grandson, Cole Edmond Roberts.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the chapel of Anders Rice & Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Stan Asher officiating, The family will receive friends from Noon to service time in the Chapel.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dozens of doctors and nurses at both Pardee Hospital and Mission Hospital for the compassionate and dedicated care shown to Donna.
