Thomas Brown

In loving memory of Thomas Brown, a devoted husband, father, and veteran who died on 11/18/2023 after an 8 month battle with esophageal cancer. Born in Yonkers, NY, on March 6, 1948, Tom cherished his wife Carol and every moment he spent with his three children, Jenny, Danny, and Andy, his son-in-law Fred, his grandchildren Abby, Adah, Federica, Guilia and Chiara, and his siblings Bob, Nancy, and Rusty and their families.
Tom served with honor in the Vietnam War, then spent his career as an air traffic controller, navigating the skies with precision and dedication, and ensuring the safety of countless travelers. In his personal time, he was a man of diverse talents and interests: He was a creative builder and gifted painter who will live on through the beautiful artwork he left with those he loved; he was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and camping; he dedicated countless hours to the Obama '08 campaign efforts in New Hampshire; and he loved exploring the many backroads of New England in his Miata, often leading and organizing excursions for local and international clubs. Recently Tom enjoyed spending winters in Punta Gorda, Florida.
The family would like to thank the staff of UVMMC Miller 5 and Hospice for the incredible care and support they provided.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and artistic expression. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. A number of celebrations of Tom's life are being planned.
